John Chinn:

You are right on. What a great event and opportunity to return to a place and time we all loved. Until returning I did not realize how special Pico is and how important all those ties to our Esselen brothers are. Never did I think 37 years ago, as I drove away from Pico that it would be 37 years before I returned. We owe it to ourselves and our brothers to stay connected. We also owe it to Pico to keep the spirit of scout camping in the wilderness area alive. Last, and not at all least, thank you Jim Bowles. This would have never happened without your leadership and advice. You remain the consummate lodge advisor. Words hardly do justice to the contributions you have made to Pico, Esselen, and the youth of this council.

Very best regards to all

Kudos and Kongratulations (I like the letter "K") on your recent
retirement Jim!   I loved your reunion picture montage and movie (especially the shots of you with Gary Roberts!)  Also, great job with the Ray Sutliff video-that's priceless!

Jim:

How can I ever thank you for making sure I was invited and attended the 50th.

I am sure you detected my emotional involvement as I saw old friends, old places and relived some of the most rewarding times of my first professional scouter experience.

My emotions were genuine, my experience was awesome, and my appreciation is deep & sincere.

Let's stay in touch.

Long live Esselen Lodge.

Jim:

It was wonderful to see you again. What a fantastic Hall for the Scouts to have, and with so many program possibilities.  Great job for the 50th anniversary celebration.

My best to all.

Great job on the 50th.   It was a wonderful event and I have heard nothing but positive things about it.  I am so happy I went and it was wonderful meeting some of the people from the beginning.
